Fitness Center Design
Key Data
  • Manufacturing Plant
  • Designed and manage fitness center
  • Started in 2010
  • Participation: 215 of 816 employees

The success of Elevation’s onsite biometric screenings and operation of an annual health fair led an 816-employee company to choose Elevation to design and manage its fitness center, which opened in 2010.

The goal for the start-up facility at the manufacturing and corporate campus has always been to reach as many employees as possible through its fitness and wellness programming. A challenge to those efforts is that employees, who pay $60 a year for membership, work on three different daily shifts and have specific break and lunch schedules.

Elevation worked with the company to take wellness to the employees instead of them having to visit the fitness center. Elevation’s outreach program began six months after the fitness center opened in 2010.

More than half of the group exercise classes, incentive programming and wellness electives are conducted on the plant’s production. Programming is kept short to encourage maximum participation among plant workers.

Since the outreach program began, wellness participation has doubled and fitness center membership has increased 15% to more than 215 workers.
